My go-to Thai place in the area doesn't take reservations on Fri or Sat, so when I found this place did I figured we'd give it a try -- and I'm so glad we did!
The food and service was AMAZING. It's a trendy little spot but not pretentious. The menu had so many options so everyone is bound to find something they like. I had the Pad Katiem, which was garlic stiry fry. It was so tasty and all the ingredients tasted so fresh!
The space is also pretty big so they can accommodate larger parties as well.
The drinks menu is also fun and a decent price.
Will definitely come back! -

Ambiance. Boom.
Courteous staff. Boom.
Clean restrooms. Boom.
Presentation of dishes. Boom
The allure of this restaurant stops about here. A wait for a table goes anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half (in the hostess's exact words, might I add). I've never eaten around here other than at Eataly, so I guess 30 minutes is a fair wait time for this severely overpopulated island once people clock out and the sun disappears. But 1.5 hours? Wow, omg.
Anyway, the slow frustration brewing in me comes to a halt as two people rise up, vacating spots that are to become mine and my friend's minutes after. The bartender is aggressively shaking a cocktail for a neighboring guest, for show or for effectiveness, the world may never know. He pours on the drink in an attractive looking slim glass, pushes it to the rightful patron, and makes his way towards us, greeting us in Thai what I assume to mean "welcome."
My friend and I wait for our third guest of our party to come along, so we decide to go with the sampler for appetizers. This meal pregame, or what a friend likes to call dinner foreplay, is a mixer of 2 shrimp tails, 2 pork dumplings, and 4 spring rolls. For $20, it's not cheap, but not awful considering we are splitting either. We wolf these down and my friend still isn't here, so we devise a plan for dessert to kill some more time, and decide a belated birthday cake served with a birthday candle fits the occasion. $30 blown in boredom, aren't we having the life of a party!!!
Anyway third friend finally gets here. She ends up ordering what I'm ordering, and my second friend goes with pad kee mow. A round of ooh's and ah's surround our dishes as they are lain before us. We chew, and pause. Reach for some water, and chew again. I break the silence. "This place doesn't taste any better than Papaya's," I go. For reference, it's a no frills place from our hometown we used to hit up for dinner during our college years. My second friend nods and the third exclaims "yeah, I would say this place is just a boujee-er version. we're paying for the zip code." I nod again to express my agreement. We finish our plates, like we always do, whether the food met our standards or not.
Then the cake rolls out. Plopped on the center of the caramel mousse cake is a chocolate piece with the words "Happy Birthday" etched out in cursive. That was pretty thoughtful. Nothing bad there.
Our check came, and we paid 3-ways. Signed it, picked up our bags (in my case 3), and went our merry way through the rest of the night. Was this an out of the world experience? Certainly not. A once in lifetime 25th birthday celebration that we will all have happy memories of? You betcha! -

Came here for lunch as I just started working in this area.
Didn't think the portions were that great.
The service was good and they seemed quite busy at the time.
I wasn't overly impressed by the flavor profiles of my dish.
I liked that they provide lunch specials that give you what seems to be a decent deal but I still left kind of hungry.
I would be willing to give this place another try. -

Good Thai restaurant right in the midtown area. My second time here and the food is good. Nice size offering for lunch that includes an appetizer, salad and any of their entrees. Portion size is very good. Wait staff is very attentive and makes good effort to ensure things like water, and items are filled and cleared quickly. Nice change of cuisine in this area that borders a lot of delis, and pre-paired food totems.
